SUSTAINABILITY

Neon Mango is committed to having a sustainable and positive impact on our environment, the society we live in and the people we meet. To this effect, we continually strive to improve our operations and reduce our footprint through a number of actions.

  • Regular servicing and upgrading of our equipment to reduce energy consumption and waste.

  • Partnerships with local suppliers where possible.

  • Travel reduction through web-based connectivity for meetings.

  • All equipment is transported in durable suitable cases that fit in small vehicles, reducing fuel consumption.

  • We encourage our editors to work from home, providing a better work-life balance and reducing travel.

  • We contract staff from all walks of life, providing equal opportunity for all.

  • We use low-energy lighting at our shoots.

  • We seek out production partners who are equally committed to sustainability.

  • We encourage and participate in pro-bono initiatives that have a positive impact on our world.

Special carbon-offsetting arrangements can be made on an individual client / production basis - please ask for more details.

Director’s Statement 2024

Due to the nature of the business, and with clients often being in - or requiring to shoot in - London and other business parks, road transport is needed to move our vast amounts of equipment about between shoots. I work hard to juggle travel to ensure that all crew is lift sharing and being as efficient as possible. I encourage everybody to bring their own bottles of water - we try to be plastic-free. I also tend to hire crew who own their own equipment on complex shoots were more is needed - reducing the need for additional carbon footprint in hiring from external sources.

Over the next few years (2025-2030) I will be closely looking at this policy to identify new things we can target. My attitude is that small things add up, and while our footprint is generally quite low (we are an effectively ‘service’ business) there is still an impact. I have very strong views on quality of life of everybody who works with and for me. I insist on paying crew and subcontractors at market standard rates and ensure that they are comfortable and well looked after on jobs. As we grow and move into an office with multiple people, I will be looking at options to encourage active travel. It is also my hope to encourage healthy lifestyles while at work - sit/stand design, regular movement breaks, stretching, mobility and exercise sessions etc.
